Rug Cleaning & Care Instructions
Vacuuming
Use a suction vacuum with the beater bar turned off to prevent damage to tufted fibers. Set suction to a low level and vacuum slowly in the direction of the pile, passing over the same area 3–5 times for best results. Vacuum weekly in low-traffic areas and every 2–3 days in lightly used areas. Using an entrance mat can help reduce dirt tracked onto the rug.
Shedding (Fluffing)
New hand-tufted rugs may shed excess fibers. This is normal and will decrease over time. Regular vacuuming will help remove loose fibers.
Sprouting Tufts
Occasionally, small tufts may appear above the surface. Do not pull them out. Simply trim them carefully with sharp scissors.
Spills & Stains
Blot spills immediately with a clean, absorbent cloth—do not rub or scrub. Remove solids with a spoon or dull knife.
For stains like coffee, wine, or chocolate, mix ¼ tsp liquid dish soap with 1 cup of water, apply to the stain, let sit for 5 minutes, then blot.
For water-soluble stains such as juice, dirt, or mud, spray a solution of ¼ tsp white vinegar mixed with 4 cups of water, then blot with a clean cloth.
Moisture
Hand-tufted rugs are designed for dry indoor areas. Avoid soaking or washing them, as moisture can damage the latex backing and loosen fibers. If the rug becomes wet, dry it immediately from both the front and back.
Furniture & Crushing
Heavy furniture may cause indentations in the pile. Occasionally rearrange furniture to prevent permanent crushing.
Sunlight
Prolonged direct sunlight may cause fading. Rotate the rug periodically to ensure even exposure.
Professional Maintenance
Professional carpet cleaning and maintenance is recommended periodically to extend the life of the rug and address any issues early.
